The Wildies Project

Nitehawk Ranch is kicking off 2026 with “The Wild Horse Project”.

20 wild horses will arrive at the ranch, and we’re opening the gates to the public to share the entire journey.

Come watch our trainers work, from the very first touch to the first ride.

These public training days are your chance to learn, ask questions, and experience true ranch horsemanship in action.

Our Trainers

The Wild Horse Project – Nitehawk Ranch

At Nitehawk Ranch, we believe in honoring the traditions of working ranches while shaping the next generation of exceptional horses. The Wild Horse Project is our bold step to a commitment to take a herd of wild horses and guide them from untouched to fully functional ranch partners. We get the opportunity to take our horse community along for the ride.

The Mission

Our goal is to preserve the natural strength, intelligence, and instincts of these horses while carefully introducing them to a life of purpose alongside people. This project is about more than training horses — it’s about honoring their origins, building trust, and showcasing what patient, skilled horsemanship can accomplish.

What Makes This Unique

Unlike a typical training program, this project is completely transparent. The public is invited to watch as we work with the horses, from their very first touch and haltering to their first rides. This is real, unfiltered ranch work — where skill, timing, and respect create willing, capable partners.

Our hope is to inspire others to see the value of these horses and to raise the standards of horsemanship.

About Nitehawk Ranch

Nitehawk Ranch is a Métis-owned operation in the heart of Manitoba ranch country. Our mission is to raise hardy, intelligent horses and mules capable of long days in rough country. Every animal here earns its keep — we don’t just raise horses, we raise partners for real performance and ranch work.
